Avi Spector is a pedagogical consultant with the RECIT FGA Regional Service. Avi’s territory covers over 25 FGA centres from the nine English Quebec School Boards. In a nutshell, Avi works with teachers to find innovative and relevant ways of using technology to enhance student learning (and develop competencies) in the classroom. The RECIT FGA team also provides a variety of ICT based workshops, 1-on-1 consulting, and supports teachers with the creation LES (Learning and Evaluation Situations) within the framework of the CCBE program.
Over time, Avi has collected lots of really great ICT tips and tricks from teachers around the province of Quebec and elsewhere. Whenever possible, the ICT suggestions on the blog come from teachers who have used the resource in their own classrooms. The blog has been growing steadily every year and has been running weekly ICT suggestions throughout the school year since September 2008.
To navigate the blog by course, you may click on any of the course categories in the panel located on the right side of the page (All, Biology, English, French, Geography, Literacy, Math, Mobile, or Science) or the colored course names above any of the Blog entries.
*ICT is an acronym for Information and Communication Technologies. ICT can encompass many technologies, but I like to say that in the classroom it’s usually related to anything to do with computers, electronic devices, or the Internet.
